Pitch Fibre

Pitch fibre dates back to the 1970’s . The idea was to create a pipe that was capable of servicing more than one household before entering the main sewer. In theory it is a good idea, but what no-one knew then is that over time pitch fibre delaminates and blisters. Eventually the condition of the drain will deteriorate,causing leaking and blockages, the pipe will then become unusable.

Vitrified Clay

Clay pipes are generally good although sometimes they can experience problems with root ingress and if the ground around the drain gets too wet it can cause the joints to displace.

PVC

It is plastic and is the modern day pipe material to use as it is hardwearing and effective.
